Rejected for Funding for Ops organization “Future Foundry” in August from FTX Future Fund (dissolved in November 2022).
Started conversation and User Interviews in Apr 2022 under the name “Heavy Meta” (play on words for EA community nomenclature of ‘meta’ organizations that act in a support capacity to direct work).
Contracted to helped with senior operations / project management at a four day conference with emerging technology and long term future companies and communities
Visit the Bay 2022 Effective Altruism Summer housing project -
Managed between 40~50 bedrooms across 6 properties that short-term in Berkeley, California (tough real estate market)
Grant funding of $147.5K, returned about $100K of collected revenues from $107K of liquidity provision (no interest loan)
Resulted in (now renamed and active) East Bay EA Slack workspace with ~250 members.
Advisory (ops & management) to several effective altruism field building programs
Full time on Operations Team @ Redwood Research
Referred by friend to start as a contractor. First exposure to Effective Altruism and AI Safety.

Over the next year:
Went from 15 ~ 8% body fat (non sustainable, reverted to 11/12% after 1 month)
Job Search
Reached out to ~150 people for info interviews (trying to find a job)
Did ~40 info interviews, coffees or calls.
Interviewed at 10 companies, applied more than 10x than.
Did 2 months of a venture capital analyst internship by going up to a small firm founder/partner that was a keynote speaker for a student club event on campus.
Wrote ~300ish pages of brain dump age and anecdotal short stories. Mostly became a bit of a sanity thing for me.
Bumped my GPA up with 3 highest quarters of academic performance.
Read 10 ~ 15 books for pleasure. Mostly self development and cognitive science.
